The scientific project of the Lab-STICC can be summarized as "From sensor to knowledge". This ambitious program regroups experts in several scientific fields to develop original research axes with great societal and economic impacts. To cite few recent contributions, among many: invention of a new communication scheme for the future generation of TV broadcast, original HMI interfaces to pilot swarm of flying drones, new technics to generate 3D antennas, coding of the mental information.
Lab-STICC is also a reference laboratory in France on Information and Communication Technology for the sea (satellite/radar sea image analysis, underwater communications, autonomous underwater vehicles). Last but not least, Lab-STICC develops new activities in the domain of cybersecurity. This development takes benefice of a strong industrial and institutional support.
Lab-STICC’s research is recognized worldwide by the signature of collaboration agreements with foreign Universities: Cranfield in UK, Delhi, Bombay and Bangalore in India.
The structure of the Lab-STICC is based on teams that are grouped in 3 departements. Each team is expert on a disciplinary domain. The Lab-STICC is also structured with transversal programs that regroup several researchers spread in several teams to solve jointly a societal topic.
